Description

This is a really elegant and classy carpet. Finely knotted and with a low clipped pile, the exuberant design is well drawn and well defined. The colours are interesting, with little use of dark blue. Note the unusual wonderful aubergine field that goes from the field into the border, a lovely tan colour, the greens and pale blues. This is a very refined carpet, clean and ready for immediate use. Woven in East Persia around the end of the 19th century, it is a product of the Revival Period of Persian carpet weaving.
