Japanese Silver Vase by Kobayashi Kako for the Hattori Company

Description

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality Meiji period 1868-1912 , circa 1900 silver vase, artist signed Kobayashi Kako for the Hattori company, the vase is finely detailed in Katakiribori carving ( a technique using an angled chisel to emulate brushstrokes) the decoration depicts a bird amidst branches of chrysanthemums and other flora, the side of the vase has been signed "Kako sen" and the underside of the vase stamped "Jungin Hattori" ( Real Silver made by Hattori Company ) a nice little addition to your Japanese collection or a perfect gift for a loved one .

Condition report :

lovely with minor age related wear.
