Narrow Antique Heriz Runner, Persia

1900 - 1920
Description

Buy online with confidence, as members of the British Antique Dealers Association (BADA) and LAPADA we adhere to strict guidelines and our antique carpets, rugs, runners are all vetted independently at the association fairs we exhibit at each year.  This wonderful narrow and very long antique Heriz runner can be securely couriered to your home, if not completely satisfied we shall of course refund you in full.  Included in the price is our expert anti-slip underlay which we include with any carpet or rug purchased from us.

An amazing fine weave with rich terracottas, greens, blues on a sandy tone background and in top original condition throughout.  The pile height is excellent across this durable antique runner, which uses tribal star designs and stylised Turtle motifs seen in Lenokran rugs from the Caucasus in Azerbaijan.

Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star.  The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
