Description

A rustic antique Heriz runner with great terracottas, green and pale blue dyes.  The geometric design is well spaced out and the border colour is not your typical dark blue making it a lighter piece for a hall. The design is quite contemporary in certain ways and could work in both traditional and contemporary settings. Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star.  The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.
