Antique Caucasian Sewan Kazak Rug with Green Ground Medallion, Circa 1890.

Description

Size: 6ft 7in x 4ft 7in (200 x 140cm).

Antique South West Caucasian Kazak rug of the traditional ‘Sewan’ design, with a green ground cruciform medallion set on a terracotta field.

Circa 1890.

The rug is will drawn with a large star to the center of the medallion and floral rosettes to each corner.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has excellent wool with long glossy pile. There is slight corrosion to the browns.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
