Circa 1890.
The terracotta field with ten pale blue Akstafa stars outlined alternately in ivory and pale yellow; rosettes and flowerheads scattered in the field; dark blue angular floral fine main border with a few small birds taking refuge in places; ivory star and lozenge outer guard. Close clipped velvety wool, vibrant palette and soft, fine handle.

The rug has slight even wear and good pile, there is corrosion to the browns. The ends retain the original fine ivory kilim decorated with small coloured dots. There are slight losses to the kilim in places.
Hand washed and ready for use or display, the rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
