Antique Bijar Rug of Small Size, Excellent Condition, Circa 1900.

1900 - 1920
Description

Size: 4ft 9in x 2ft 7in (145 x 80cm).

A traditional Bijar rug of very firm dense weave, the rug has a traditional medallion design with a plain madder red. The rug is of a useful small size.

Circa 1900.

The madder red field is gently abrashed and has two small birds in yellow at each end of the traditional hooked medallion. The indigo blue varies from a dark blue to a soft medium blue.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.

The rug is suitable for heavy domestic use.
