Elegant antique Lilihan rug woven in the early 20th Century with a rare soft golden sandy yellow main field colour.  The border has glorious blue dyes, which change throughout, this process happens due to different wools being used when weaving. The term is known as Abrash and adds a lot of character to antique rugs, that modern rugs try to copy as best as they can today.  Stunning open design on this classical floral rug, with a very high soft wool pile, this rug is in tremendous condition.  A hard to find squarish size too, a wonderful rug for a bedroom, entrance hall or in living room.Lilihan rugs were woven South of where Sarouks were produced in the village of Saruk in the Arak region of Persia.
