Gorgeous sky blue antique Heriz carpet from the late 19th century, with rustic charm and scattered tribal motifs seen often in Bakshaish carpets and early examples.  We love the change in dye in the pale sky blues, this is known as Abrash and gives the carpet such character.  A brick red/brownish border with large leaves and stylised flowers well proportioned.  Some wonderful pinks and green dyes used for the detailing too.Condition is good, with areas of old restoration/preservation, with the end fringes stopped and secured.  Cleaned by ourselves it is ready for any room.  The pile height is medium high, and we offer excellent rug underlay included with any of our antique or modern rugs.  This aids the rug considerably to stop wear and prevent it from moving around on any floor type.Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another.
