Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this piece to the 1900s.
Circa 1900.
The rug is of traditional Kashan design, a small central medallion on a dark indigo blue ground, surrounded by floral sprays. The madder red spandrels with a scrolling lattice are beautifully drawn. The use of yellow in the central medallion really sets this rug apart from the normal Kashan's that we see.

The rug is in good condition with even wear and low pile, giving this rug the lived with and loved look so suitable for that house or cottage in the country.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
