A wonderful condition antique Khamseh rug using the beautiful tribal ''chicken'' or ''bird'' design from the end of the 19th century. Fantastic colours with an amazing ''abrash'' which is the term for dye change, as you can see the border changes colour from deeper reds to deeper reds to browns.  The blue dye changes too from lighter to darker, which adds so much interest and charm.  The ivory wool used for the three medallion design, highlights the ''chickens'' who are pecking! An interesting tribal weaving from South-West Persia.
