Description

This is a particularly fine hand woven Isfahan carpet with silk highlights dating from around 1920. The carpet is finely drawn and has a beautiful tree of life design featuring rabbits, deer and exotic birds. It is woven in very soft fine wool and has silk highlights throughout which really heighten the design. The carpet has a pleasing colour palette with a deep madder ground, warm sand borders and dark indigo,light blue and grey all featured. This is in excellent condition with complete selvedges and tassels to the ends and measures 166 cms by 109 cms.
