This small format suzani has some interesting features. It has an arch to the top of the field which suggests it was made to go above a doorway or over a bed. Second, the borders and the field appear to be two different compositions which have been put together in a harmonious manner. This piece has very pretty and subtle colours and a graceful design. Both the embroidery and the background have survived very well, suggesting this piece must have been cherished over the generations. Backed and ready for immediate use. Ideal as a wall hanging.
