Size: 7ft 7in x 7ft 7in (232 x 232cm).

Antique Ersari Turkmen main carpet from Southern Turkmenistan or Northern Afghanistan.

Circa 1880 or earlier.

This fine carpet has 3 rows of 6 large goli guls with large diamond shaped minor guls and other filler elements in the field. The main guls are of a superb large size and very round in shape.

The colours in this carpet are truly outstanding and the images do not do them justice. The field is an abrashed soft terracotta red, the indigo blues range from a very light blue, a blue/green and a dark indigo blue.

The carpet is of a small square size, indicating an early date and tribal origin. An outstanding early tribal carpet.

The carpet is in excellent condition with even wear and medium/low pile.

The carpet is suitable for light domestic use.

The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
