Antique Yomut Turkmen Main Carpet with Kepse Guls, 2nd Half 19th Century.

Description

Size: 9ft 7in x 5ft 9in (291 x 174cm).

Antique Yomut Turkmen main carpet with the ‘Kepse’ gul design.

2nd half 19th century.

The carpet has a rich aubergine ground colour with the large Kepse guls in diagonal line of differing colours. The include three shades of indigo blue and a blue/green. The border is of the traditional curled leaf design. The long elem end panels are filled with classic Turkmen tree designs.

The carpet is in excellent condition with slight even wear with good pile.

The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.

The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.

A superb example of a small size Yomut Turkmen main carpet.
