Description

This is a lovely small suzani, known as a nim-Suzani, from Uzbekistan. The silk embroidery is so delicate and refined and the beautiful flowers are arranged with a lovely flowing movement. Note the aquamarine leaf in the main border which adds another layer of movement. Dated to around 1850, this piece has survived in remarkable condition which indicates how is must have been cherished through the generations. Now cleaned and relined, this beautifulpiece of woven art is ready to be hung or used elsewhere in one's decorative setting.
