Description

This is a beautiful, very fine quality Kashan prayer rug from Central Persia which dates from the early 20th century. The part silk rug has a warm ivory mihrab field and a hanging garden design with flowers flanked by columns and urns issuing flowers. There are intricate foliate designs throughout and a deep indigo border with stylised birds and multi floral scrolls . The carpet measures 180cms by 122cms and is in excellent condition and a very detailed and pleasing design.
