Description

This is a very fine antique Isfahan carpet which dates from around 1920. The intricately woven carpet has a beautiful design with a vase issuing floral sprays in typical Isfahan style, in an ivory field, surrounded by climbing plants and flowers with songbirds and exotic birds. The carpet is in very soft fine wool and has a most pleasing colour palette with warm red and indigo to the deep borders as well as pastel shades of pink and duck egg blue. The carpet is in great condition with complete ends and selvedges and just a little even wear. Unusually for a carpet of this type of design, this is a really good room size measuring 335 cms by 215 cms.
