Description

This is a quality Khorassan room size carpet of stunning design which dates from the around 1920. The carpet has a glorious central medallion in rainbow colours within an ivory floral field enclosed by polychrome spandrels and multiple borders. The stylised flower filled design is very fine and intricate and the carpet is woven in a very fine soft wool.

The colour palette is both unusual and very pleasing featuring soft blues, corals and pinks, indigo and leaf green. The carpet is signed by the artisan maker to a woven cartouche in the border. It is an excellent large room size, measuring 425 x 308.

This is in excellent ready to use condition with complete ends and selvedges and a good even soft pile, which has some wear, slightly lower in places. This carpet is simply wonderful down on the floor and would add great colour and warmth to a large reception room.
