An attractive Mahal carpet from the early twentieth century with a decorative open floral design, this pattern is know as the Mina Khani design.  It appears on a variety of rugs such as Veramin, Heriz, Tabriz or tribal rugs such as Baluch.  A soft muted red background with gentle greens, pale blues and an indigo border.  This carpet is distressed in places with some wear in the border and a little in the main field.  Still in brilliant working order and useable with our excellent underlay included in the price.  It would look great on a wood floor in many rooms whether a hall, drawing room, dining room or study.Mahal carpets were produced in Sultanabad, Persia which is now Arak in the center of Iran.
