Description

This is a stunning hand woven carpet in beautiful vibrant colours typical of the 1920s period of Chinese carpet manufacture. The carpet has a wonderful deep azure blue ground and a stylishly open design of phoenix birds in burnt orange and coral, flying amongst blossoms. There are blossoming trees upon hillsides to each of the spandrels of the carpet creating a quite open and beautiful scene.

The carpet has a fine and dense weave, typical of these Chinese carpets from the Art Deco period. The pile is even and in very good order throughout and the jewel like shades used in the design have great depth.

This is a great room size measuring 360 cms by 271 cms and would give a fabulously stylish look to any room.
