Antique Khamseh Carpet

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a good example of a hand woven woollen Khamseh carpet dating from around 1930. The carpet has a wonderfully warm colour palette of madder red, deep indigo and a dark cinnamon shade as well as a contrasting ivory. It has a triple medallion design and attractive deep quadruple borders. The carpet is in excellent order with complete ends and selvedges and a good pile. It measures 280 cms by 193 cms including the woollen fringes.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
