An antique Mahal carpet with rich warm colours and a beautiful all over floral design. The condition is distressed in places with wear scattered in some areas. This carpet has a beautiful distressed look which is increasingly in fashion these days. Woven around the early part of the 20th Century it is over 100 years old and sometimes these soft wool carpets can get worn depending on use. All of our carpets and rugs we supply come with the best rug underlay on the market, a fantastic product we have supplied for over 10 years which keeps a carpet secure and adds stability to it. This helps prevent any further wear and adds to its durability.

Antique Mahal's or Sultanabad carpets are generally woven with all over patterns consisting of floral designs and soft tones. Their neighbours in the north of Persia, Heriz were always more geometric in their style - and more often were woven with central motifs. The all over design Heriz carpets are increasingly hard to find in good condition and with age.
