Antique Hand Woven Khamseh Carpet Room Size

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a very nice example of a Khamseh carpet dating from around 1930. The carpet is handwoven in soft wool and features a very nice design and colour palette with a warm russet red lozenge with three medallions in an indigo central field. The borders are a particularly good feature, one of them featuring polychrome Lesghi star type motifs. The carpet is in excellent condition with complete ends and selvedges and woollen fringes. It is a great room size and would add character and warmth to a reception room. This measures 318 cms by 213 cms.
