Antique Kizil Ayak Ersari Turkmen 12 gul chuval with good red ground colour. The elem design is stylised shrubs or flowers. There are some very nice yellow highlights.

Circa 1900.

The guls are well drawn and large in size, the minor guls have a pleasing use of yellow.

Chuval are storage bags used by the nomads to transport goods, the faces are piled so make very good small rugs. This example originates from the border region of Northern Afghanistan and Southern Turkmenistan.

Slight even wear with good pile.

Hand washed and ready for use or display.
