Antique Persian Sarouk rug of classic medallion design, with floral sprays on an ivory ground.

Circa 1900.

This is a classic example of a Sarouk rug, well drawn with good colour. The deep indigo blue medallion stands out well on the ivory ground. The field is filled with floral sprays. The border design is very detailed and abrashed with soft pastel blue in the middle.

Full pile with very slight wear

Hand washed and ready for use or display. A superb rug that would grace any room.
