Antique Western Anatolian Bergama prayer rug of small square size.

Late 19th century.

A good example of a Bergama prayer rug of small square size, with very bold graphic design. The rug is simple in its form but the colours all work together well, the main ivory ground border with a leaf design is related to those found on rugs from the village of Kozak.

There is even wear with medium pile, slightly heavier in places.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display
