Description

This is a very characterful Persian Malayer runner carpet dating from the late 19th Century with a great country house look. The runner has a stylish hexagonal lattice design with enclosed stylised flowers and multiple polychrome foliate borders. It has an attractive colour palette; its ground colour is indigo and the lattice design features a chartreuse green, ivory and crimson. The runner has a little wear to the ends and the selvedges are complete. This has some areas of low pile although overall it is generally in good serviceable order, ready for use.

The carpet is a very good size for a longer, larger hall, measuring 508 cms long 110 cms wide.
