A vibrant and beautiful antique Shirvan rug woven around 1880-1890 with lovely rich dyes. Lovely deep indigo blues and yellows, soft reds and greens used on the geometric designs.  The floral talish designs in the main field combined with the stylised star motifs make such an interesting rug.  Caucasian rugs are famed for their bold patterns and glorious colours, the late 19th century pieces have some of the best colours.The condition is fair with a fine wool pile over the majority of this 130 year old rug.  Some minimal wear in places but with excellent underlay we supply with every rug it is still a durable and beautiful antique rug.Shirvan is a region of Azerbaijan in the southeastern Caucasus.
