Antique Saryk Turkmen Ensi of scarce design.

4th quarter 19th century

An interesting Saryk Turkmen ensi published by Jack Franses in his 1970 book, 'European and Oriental rugs, for pleasure and investment'. Page 142. I also have the original purchase invoice dated 14th May 1966; when this ensi was purchased for £250.00.....

The Ensi is of classic Saryk design and has highlights in white cotton and both crimson and ivory silk throughout. The ensi retains its original end finishes at both ends. The ensi has been wall hung since its purchase in 1966 and is in near perfect condition.

Outstanding condition with full pile. I have not washed this ensi.
