Antique Eastern Anatolian Kurdish Yuruk prayer rug of classic design with outstanding colour.

2nd half 19th century.

An excellent example of a Yuruk prayer rug, with powerful bold design and intense dye colours. The wool is soft, long and glossy. The gold border frames the rug well and contrasts with the madder red field.

Superb condition with some wear and good pile. The rug has a few scattered old repairs and the selvedges have been re-bound.

A good collectors rug that will make an excellent display item.

Hand washed and ready for use or display.
