Antique Bijar Rug with Mina Khani Design, Wonderfulcolours, Circa 1880.

Description

Size: 7ft 1in x 4ft 4in (216 x 132cm).

Antique Persian Bijar rug of traditional mina khani design with excellent natural dyed colours.

Circa 1880.

The rug has excellent colour and design, the mina khani (many flowers) design which is beautifully drawn, note the very soft yellow and light blues and greens. The ivory ground border with a flower and oak leaf design frames the rug well. As with most older Bijar weavings this rug is on a wool foundation.

The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile.

The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.

The rug is suitable for normal domestic floor use.
