A Heriz carpet woven around 1890-1900 with a rarer and hard to find all over leaf design. Most antique Heriz carpets we come across have been woven with a central motif and elaborate corner spandrels. This carpet is more refined and classical with the repeating gold leaves.  Lovely pale yellows and soft blues on a warm red background have been used to create an elegant rug ideal for under a dining table or drawing room.  We have also placed many of this type in a study too as they work with dark woods and oak furniture beautifully.Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another.
