Beautiful antique Oushak carpet with very pale colours, using greys, pinks and soft purple tones.  The pile is very good on this wool carpet with only minimal lower areas of pile.  No major losses to the ends or side/selvedges, as far as decorative carpets go this one would be very easy to live with.  The wool pile is very good on this carpet with minimal wear. Structurally it is excellent and cleaned by ourselves ready to be used on the floor..  A very attractive soft tone carpet, the change in dyes throughout the carpet offers a lot of character, a wonderful antique carpet to furnish with.Ushaks were woven in Western Anatolia which was one of the largest rug production areas since the Ottoman Empire.  Their designs tend to be more open than Persian rugs and soft dyes are not uncommon.  Often younger Ushaks or Oushaks will be rich red in colour and use bolder geometric designs.  This Anatolian carpet has an almost contemporary feel...
