Description

An Old Mahal carpet in a great squarish size and with a decorative floral design. These small Mahal carpets have a great decorative look and this one is in general good condition. The colours vary from soft pink tones to red, with lovely greens and deep indigo blues. Some old areas of wear and old restoration in places but a durable and decorative carpet woven around 1930 at a reasonable price. All our carpets and rugs we supply come with the best rug underlay on the market, a fantastic product we have supplied for over 10 years which keeps a carpet secure and adds stability to it.

Antique Mahal's or Sultanabad carpets are generally woven with all over patterns consisting of floral designs and soft tones. Their neighbours in the north of Persia, Heriz were always more geometric in their style - and more often were woven with central motifs. The all over design Heriz carpets are increasingly hard to find in good condition and with age.
