Antique Kashgai Carpet Room Size

Description

This is an antique Kashgai carpet from South West Iran which dates from around 1890. The carpet has a wonderfully warm and cheery colour palette, not typical of Kashgais generally, and a very pleasing honeycomb lattice design. It has a rich red field with polychrome octagons enclosed by pretty ivory borders. The carpet has slight even wear throughout and a little wear to the fringes, the selvedges are complete and there are no repairs. It is a room good size, measuring 300 cms by 220 cms
