Description

This is a wonderful antique Sarab woollen runner carpet from North West Persia with a really rare colour palette dating from around 1900. The carpet is extremely soft and lustrous and has a very pleasing colour combination. The ground colour is a beautiful light olive green and it has indigo, ivory and a pale blush coral shade in the linked stepped lozenge design. This is in excellent ready to use condition with complete ends and selvedges and a good pile. It has a discrete signature to the field by the artisan in a soft red shade. The runner carpet has neat proportions measuring 295 cms by 89 cms.
