Antique Heriz Carpet Room Size

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a wonderfully warm woollen Heriz carpet of good room size from Iranian Azerbaijan which dates from around 1920. The carpet has a brick red field of angular vines, and a stepped medallion enclosed by ivory spandrels and indigo borders with samovar motifs.

The carpet is in excellent ready to use condition with complete ends and selvedges and a deep even pile.

It is a great room size measuring 310 cms by 250 cms, quite close to square, and would add great warmth to a room.
