Description

This is a really stunning example of an antique Isfahan prayer rug which dates from the late 19th Century. The finely woven carpet has the fine detail you would expect of Isfahans and depicts a wonderful tree of life garden scene with a central urn issuing flowers beneath the Mihrab. What sets the carpet apart is its excellent condition; there is no wear to be seen and the depth of colour to the shades in the design is remarkable. The teal blue to the bottom of the design, but also used throughout is beautiful. This carpet has obviously had no use on the floor and of course would make a marvellous wall hanging.

The carpet measures 217 cms by 137 cms.
