Description

This is a stunning Ahar Heriz carpet from Azerbaijan which dates from the early 20th Century. The carpet has a wonderfully warm and colourful design with a warm terracotta field and large flowerhead medallion framed by ivory spandrels, and indigo borders of serrated leaves and polychrome flowerheads. This large carpet is handwoven in pure wool and feels very warm and soft to the touch.

It is a great room size measuring 386 cms by 296 cms.

The carpet is in excellent condition throughout with a nice deep pile and complete ends and selvedges.
