Size: 9ft 4in x 4ft 11in (285 x 150cm).

Antique South West Persian Khamseh tribal rug with a large single medallion on an ivory ground and the well know 'bird' design. Note the numerous chickens and other birds along with many small animals and other tribal devices. The border is a very well drawn example of a classic Khamseh design.

Circa 1880.

This rug is an excellent example of Khamseh tribal weaving.

The rug has slight even wear with good pile.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.

A superb collectible display item.
