Antique Kashan Carpet

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a very nice example of a fine quality Kashan carpet from Central Persia which dates from around 1900. The carpet has a beautifully intricate design typical of Kashans with an indigo and ivory central medallion set within a warm raspberry field enclosed by indigo spandels and deep palmette borders. This finely woven carpet is in excellent condition with complete ends and selvedges. It measures 209 cms by 132 cms.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
