Antique Isfahan Carpet

Description

This is a beautiful antique Isfahan carpet from Central Iran which dates from around 1890. The design is both intricate and delicate and the fineness of the weave can be seen in this. It has an attractive colour palette which is very easy on the eye; the warm ivory field has a wonderful overall design of flowering trees and plants enclosed by deep coral borders with palmettes and meandering vines.

The carpet has an even low pile and is in very good condition throughout, it selvedges and ends complete. It measures 200 cms by 139 cms and would add great charm to a room.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
