Description

This is most appealing Ghom carpet from Central Persia which dates from around 1910. It has a very pleasing colour palette with a lot of warm but muted shades, including camel, ivory, coral and indigo. The design is very intricate with lots of detail and shows the fineness of the weaving. The carpet has a central stepped pole medallion on ivory ground enclosed by a warm camel field and wonderfully abrashed coral borders, all filled with scrolling vines and palmettes.

There is a little wear to the fringes of the carpet but it is otherwise in really excellent order. It is a good size measuring 208 cms 141 cms and would add great warmth to a room.
