Antique Kashgai Carpet

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a wonderful Kashgai carpet in beautifully soft wool which dates from around 1920. The carpet has a very pretty design with central indigo medallion set within a warm red field, featuring stylised horses heads and enclosed by stylised flower borders. The colour palette although typical of Kashgais is on the lighter, brighter side with lots of ivory highlights. The carpet is in excellent condition throughout and is a fair room size measuring 243 cms by 168 cms.

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
