As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this nice quality charming bronze Okimono from the Meiji period , the subject matter is charming and depicts a young boy playing a flute while sat upon the back of a recumbent Oxen , the boy is obviously taking a break from his work as he carries a large wicker basket and sickle upon his back, the Oxen is tethered with a rope through a ring in his nose , the quality of the Oxen is far superior to many groups of this type , great features and very realistic detailing throughout , the bronze is signed to the underside in a signature seal , a fantastic tactile Okimono for your collection .
