A Stunning Japanese Damascened Iron Dish By The Kobayashi Company Of Tokyo

As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this rare and exceptional quality Meiji period dish by the Kobayashi company of Tokyo , working in a similar manner to the Komai company of Kyoto the artist has created a staggering quality piece of Iron work , the dish formed as a sixteen petal Imperial Chrysanthemum is lavishly decorated in Gold and Silver Nunomezogan depicting three coiled Dragons intertwined amidst a floral backdrop , this lavish decoration surrounding a central mixed metal roundel depicting Kannon holding a vase of Willow, the panel worked in Shibuichi, Copper, Silver and Gold alloys to an exceptional standard , the underside of the dish rests upon three Silver mounted bracket feet and is further decorated with bands of lappets and floral motifs to the exterior, the central signature panel is a joy , the lavish Gold company seal surrounded by a further band of stylised decoration , the seal translates to read Nihon Tokyo Kobayashi Seizo ....
