Kashmir Silk Carpet Tree of Life

1920 - 1940
Description

This is a very fine Kashmir silk carpet from Northern India which dates from the early 20th century. The carpet is extremely finely woven in pure silk. This has a dramatic colour palette of shades which include deep indigo, warm ivory, caramel, bronze and the most wonderful carmine red.

It has a beautiful tree of life design with blossoming flowers, exotic birds and grazing deer. The carpet is in excellent ready to use clean condition and would make a very beautiful wall hanging. It measures 153 by 93 cms.
