As part of our Japanese art collection we are delighted to offer this high quality pair of Japanese bronze and mixed metal vases by a Tokyo metalworker , styled in the manner of Suzuki Chokichi these large and imposing vases are finely decorated to the main body, each depicting a finely chiselled bird amidst mixed metal and multi patinated trailing flora, the flora taking on the Autumnal colours so reminiscent of Chokichi''s works , the artist has used his skills to further decorate the shoulders of the vases with a silver inlaid geometric damascened band, upon this band sits an unusual mix of cloisonné enamel gold wired roundels, a most unusual combination , the rims of the vases are finely gilded and the pair are signed in a full seal to the underside, the seal loosely transcribes as ''made by Seito in Tokyo great Japan as a gift '' what a wonderful gift they would be !!The condition is superb !Approximate sizesHeight 12'' 31.5 cmDiameter 7.75'' 19.5 ...
