Old Afghan village rug with two rows of nine large Turkmen chuval guls.
Circa 1920.
The rug is in a deep plum red colour that is slightly lighter at the top end. The rug has excellent soft wool and retains the original kilim end finishes at both ends. The rug is slightly misshapen as can be seen in the images, this is typical of village weavings.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
